English language challenges

Imagen
I had the advantage of being able to have English from my first year in school. On that basis, my relationship with English has been quite long and diverse since at different stages in my life, this language has played a fundamental role. That being the case, I think it is extremely pertinent to mention the great inequalities present in education, especially in subjects such as English. As for my experience with university English I can say several things. It has always struck me that those English teachers chosen by the university to teach are teachers who, for the most part, have studied or lived abroad. I think this last point is important because, when it comes to telling stories or anecdotes, we can imagine how beautiful and extraordinary it must be to study outside Chile. Also, english at university has helped me a lot to strengthen the knowledge that i already had about the language. Unfortunately, due to the conditions of the semester, the classes are not carried out “as they s...

Time travel to the future

If I start to think or imagine things I would like to do in the future, I immediately see myself traveling. In itself, I would like to travel to study and specialize in an area of my career; specifically the management of people in organizations but with a gender focus on leadership matters. I feel that it is a debt that the public administration has at the Latin American level and, as is known, in Anglo-Saxon countries there is a greater spectrum of study in this area, has been studied much more and, consequently, I can have more tools to develop in my area of work.   Now, I also imagine myself traveling the world just for pleasure, wanting to enjoy and know new cultures, learning from other people. One of the countries that I would choose for mere capricious would be New York, I feel that it would be a fascinating city both for its history and for its attractions. But if we talk about a destination to rest or do nothing, it would definitely be a Caribbean beach like Aruba.  ...

Changes to my study programe

I find it very difficult to imagine that my curriculum can change. However, some of the changes that could occur are the approaches of the branches of administrative management since, For obvious reasons, the public administration is suffering a series of questions and turbulences that are due to all the social changes that our country faces. In this way, from my perspective, it is highly expected that the orientation of the vocation of service will undergo changes in the way of understanding, developing and executing it, directly pointing to the citizen’s perception of the State’s presence in their daily lives and how this presence generates positive or negative changes.  On the other hand, another academic line that may be affected is the management of certain statistical programs for the planning and evaluation of public policies. This may be due to modernisation factors as many of these programmes are not currently in use. This is also due to institutional budget reasons which,...

My future job

Imagen
When I chose Public Administration as a career I felt I was pigeonholing myself into a future that was not what I wanted for my life. The first year of college was very difficult and complex because a part of me was not happy with the choice I had made for my life, it was as if I myself had been constantly punishing myself for making a decision that I was never entirely convinced of. In spite of that and my negative thoughts, I gradually gained more security and affection for what I was studying; the feeling that the vocation of service was present in the midst of so much uncertainty.   Almost 3 years after having made this decision, I see in retrospect that, although I still can’t imagine a lifetime working at a desk, if I imagine working for Chile, for older adults. The only thing I had clear when choosing Public Administration was to do social justice for all the grandparents and grandparents of our country, to give them dignity in life and not to wait, even more, for the deteri...

My expectations about the future

Imagen
I have often imagined my life in the future, wondering if all the effort I make in my daily life will bear fruit.  IMost of the time I project myself exercising my career, enjoying a profession that I chose out of conviction and that fills me, despite how strenuous it can be to study and work at the same time. For me being happy or planning to be happy in some future doesn’t mean much, on the contrary, I think making plans is counterproductive because our futures, indirectly, it also depends on the actions of others since we are part of a society and we live in a network that generates ties, feelings and belonging. Therefore, for me the future is not something that can be managed and I prefer, most of the time, not to make plans because the frustration for not being able to fulfill them can be a lot. The only thing I’m clear about in a few more years is being with my mom, that we can accomplish goals together like traveling to Cambodia together. Also, I would like to be with my cat...

My favourite time of the year

Imagen
Without a doubt, the season of the year that I like the most and that I could say is my favorite, is winter. I like the cold and the rainy days because I have the feeling that nature is more alive than ever.   This year, winter began in mid-June and ended in late September, characterized by one of the hottest winters in history.   Unlike the above, I have very cute childhood memories, cloudy days like some flashes of heat, playing with my cousins at my grandmother’s house and drinking hot chocolate.   I also remember storms and storms of wind and torrential rains, nights without electricity because the rain affected the functioning of electric poles or gusts of wind that were heard until the early morning.   Maybe, unlike many people, I really like to go to the beach during the winter, the sky has colors that in no other season of the year you see, a combination of red tones, purple and yellow, which combined with the sea breeze make the beach one of my favorite plac...

My last concert.

Imagen
Since I was a little girl I shared a lot of things with my older sister. While we listened to various musical styles such as rock and pop, there was one great thing in common: Anglo-Saxon music. One of the bands we used to listen to was Coldplay; a British pop rock and alternative rock band formed by Chris Martin - vocalist-, Jonny Buckland -guitar-, Will Champion -drummer- and Guy Berryman -electric bass-.In 2016, Coldplay arrived in Chile with its famous, cheerful and colorful tour 'A Head Full Of Dream' filling the National Stadium. It was a beautiful night, I remember it with a lot of nostalgia since everything was happiness and colors; we had bracelets that were given to us when we arrived and this bracelet emitted colors in different frequencies as they advanced in the show.  One anecdote I remember is that when the concert tickets went on sale, the company in charge had serious problems on its web platform, tickets could not be purchased, payment methods did not accept t...
